EDUCATION WITH VALUE
To day I was listening to our inspiring President at the gathering of Sri Sri. He is a soul who comes out with simple honesty but sincerity which touches your heart. To day among other things he was speaking about three things which could make the world a better place to live. One of the things he stressed upon was education with value.
What is value? This is a value which makes agood human being. A human being which has its mission to make world better than what it is.Every body can strive to do this in their sphere of operation, whether as an individual, a member of community or a spiritual leader. The values to be imbibed can be gleaned from the great souls that have sojourned through this planet. The values they have up held, many a time at odds to the prevailing situation, but nevertheless a soul lifting one can be taught to be emulated and ingrained in the pupils psyche.
They are the values of Love, values of Freedom, values of Tolerance, values of rational thinking and concern for the fellow being irrespective of religion, caste, breed and up-bringing.
Truly these values will make for a more peaceful society and a more productive society. It will bring transformation in the individual to make one more creative and contributing human being.

Dear Vijaya Kumar,

Normally, for many people literacy is conventional education which we know. But, I feel that it is untrue. I am sure literacy is ability of a person to live on his own and support not only himself but also his family, without intruding upon other's ability to live like him. From time immemorial, mankind has been living like that. The division of labour in the human society at its refined stage had stemmed from this literacy only.

However, after some time, literacy and education were mixed together and the so called school/college education has come to be know as literacy.

In what way a potter who could make a wonderful pot is less literate than the so called MBA who cannot do such a pot?

Likewise, a Postman delivering letters in all sincerety is more literate than a corrupt official in an organisation.

So, ultimately, the VALUE in the education should come in our ability to be literate.

Hello Vijji uncle,

I dont know much on the value,, to little experience of life to pass a comment. But i want to share what i feel.

4 years of engineering study... and 4 months of experience at work. the education did introduce me to a lots of stuff but it really didnt do any great help in the JOB. i had to learn same stuff in a new way ... the way i could make use of it..

I feel the VALUE in education is there only if it can be put to a practical use...

I feel a potter is more literate than than a engineering student.
Its important to know how to read and write. but its value is missing till its used.

Value here is meant to be a value of ehics, morals and not the value of money. The other value does help in living a comfortable life. But the real value makes one a good human being. A potter may be better than an engineer, but if he is bad human being he is as fragile as his pots are.

My Dear Vijay Kumar,

Thats exactly what I also was trying to say. It is not education that brings value. But the human being by his actions adds value to his life. Education need not necessarily mean the school education. Thats what I wished to say.Education means adding value to one life by our better and best actions.

What do you think of a person having both good value and money? He could be a better person than a person who is having only good value. Good value plus money can bring lot of good deeds.
